Beat The Clock
So, today I took part in a competition being run by Ableton called Beat The Clock.
Basically, the contest states that you have to finish a track (with the stems they provided) within 24 hours. I finished mine in about 11 hours.
Anyway, the system for winning is a voting system (which I kinda hate, but that’s how it is), and the 1st place prize is a trip to Berlin to meet Ableton & SoundCloud + Ableton upgrades free for life + SoundCloud Pro account for 5 years and an APC40!
So if you’re in Europe, this is good thing! It means I’ll most likely play some shows closer to you than I’ve ever been before!
I really hate to ask people to vote for me, it seems kind of lame, but apparently that’s how good music is judged these days, so if you could go and vote that would be awesome.
I’m also going to give a free wav download of the track to anyone that votes, so if you vote for me, send me an email at mrbill [at] mrbillstunes [dot] com or through my FaceBook page and let me know and i’ll send you the track. I’m just going to go off an honesty based system here, so if you tell me you voted for it I’ll just believe you and give you the download link anyway, but please actually do vote if you can!
Additionally, if you can share this idea around to other people that would be much appreciated!
Cheers,
Bill.
Focus – Out Now!
This album is now available via Adapted Records!
Stay tuned for remixes with Re-Focused: Volume 1 & 2!
Just when you thought you had a grasp of Mr. Bill’s style, he pushes the envelope further into a vast, unpredictable, glitch fuelled territory. His latest release, “Focus”, nudges that idea to a new frontier evoking a surplus of emotions and questions. The release is commenced with track one, “Balance”, establishing a covert, sneaky vibe prior to hurling you into a warped world of audiological, fractured nourishment in preparation for track two, “Router”, which brings the release to a snaring point with an epic adventure of juicy proportions, delivering crisp 8-bit melodies with luscious spatial manipulation and sound design combined with roaring, jagged bass movements. “Clarity” shows a very different aspect of Bill’s production, delving into emotive, ambient melodies surpassing his previous work in this area. This concept is continued with “Blush”, which combines serene melodies with intense, sharp glitches that are seemingly designed to put you in a mixed state of relaxation and scrutiny. The release then continues to the title track, “Focus”, an evolving electronic amalgamation of funk and smooth jazz with tempo, style and bass progressions that will carry you along wherever they go. “Shatter” breaks the conventions of timing with intricate, percussive edits and stereo trickery that flows seamlessly. The release is concluded with “Tubes”, a heavy dosage of atmospheric breaks with heavily manipulated vocals to finalise the release with both style and meaning.

Insomnia – Out Now!
So over the past few months myself and Ryanosaurus AKA Electrocado have been working on a few things, one of which is this two track EP/single entitled ‘Insomnia’ which is essentially two really banging Electro/House/Dubstep tracks. This came out today as a pay what you feel download. If you’re keen to download it visit our Electrocado Bandcamp page here.
Thanks to the following people who helped make this happen. Thanks to Funi for the artwork, Blake Galera-Holliss for the vocals on Insomnia, Viscer for the work he did in Tsunami and last but not least Fahad Abdulaal for his pristine mastering job.
Cheers,
Bill.
Up The Duff – Out Now!
So as you may know, I’ve been putting together a compilation for the past 8 months or so to be released for free on Up Records and the end of 2011 showed the release of this. The result was an explosive collection of 27 glitched out tracks, featuring a massive line-up of some of the finest artists forging new pathways in electronic music.
Click here to visit Ektoplazm and download ‘Up The Duff’. All the artists on this compilation including myself would love for you to share this around as we’re basically treating this as a promotional tool to push glitch music around the world a little more. Enjoy!
